Hi. It seems there may be some slight differences in setting the "shading nodes" for using PBR Materials in Blender vs Bonsai. For Bonsai, Texture Coordinate and Mapping nodes are required at the start of the material node tree (this is shown in the tutorials as well), for this example see attached GraniteWthMap_TxtCoord.jpg. However, these are not necessary for applying the same textures for applying materials in only blender (see attached GraniteWthoutMap_TxtCoord.jpg). Without the texture coordinate and/or mapping nodes only the base? color shows (see GraniteCountersWithoutM_TC.jpg in bonsai, but with these nodes the texture shows (see GraniteCountersWthM_TC.jpg). In blender only those node are not required in the texture shows in the view ports and renders with some reflections, light dependent. The flat (not box) image worked for blender counter tops (without mapping node), but obviously not in bonsai .
Bottom line is there some explanation why the two nodes are needed for bonsai but not blender. Not a big deal to add nodes, but I have several blender texture nodes that work without mapping - so wondering if some reason for the differences. I can upload .ifc file, etc if helpful.
Hi Joseph, to tell you the truth i'm not sure why.
I would suggest posting this question on https://community.osarch.org/categories/general
That's the general forum for Bonsai questions. Perhaps someone might be able to chime in there.
